Monaco - Lionel Messi was finally crowned the best player in Europe. Barcelona star was beating two other competitors, namely Xavi Hernandez and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Player of the announcement was read out after the draw for the Champions League group after in Monaco on Friday (26/08/2011) pm dawn. Messi get more votes than the number of Xavi and Ronaldo.
In voting conducted by 53 sports journalists representing each member of UEFA, Messi, collecting 38 votes. Xavi won over only 11 votes and Ronaldo are only three.
Messi was brilliant last season. Besides bringing Barca win La Liga and the Champions League, Argentine players also scored 53 goals, including 12 goals in the Champions League that makes it a top scorer in European club tournaments such.
