Optimism Wenger
Manchester - Only one point in two matches, unseeded when Arsenal meet Manchester United at Old Trafford. But Arsene Wenger is confident that the assessment was wrong.
After a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United in the first week, Arsenal defeated Liverpool 0-2 in the second week. On each such action Arsenal end the game with 10 players because Gervinho and Emmanuel Frimpong get a red card.
Besides the issue of Discipline of players, the Gunners are also getting the spotlight in the second game was abandoned because the two flagship player, Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. Wenger has dismissed the problem of loss of mainstay players, but he did not just let the player discipline problems.
"The issue of discipline has much to our disadvantage since the start of the season. If we can control our responses and reactions, then the six points would have at hand," he said on ESPN Star.
But, there is little relief which then makes Wenger believes his team can achieve results when facing Manchester United on Sunday (08/28/2011) night. Victory over Udinese in the Champions League has made Robin van Persie et al. sure that they still have the strength to fight.
"After the first game against Udinese, the team we were a little giddy. The game was stuck in our minds when we faced Liverpool."
"The game was now out of our minds, and now we are a team that is much more confident ahead of the game in Manchester," he said.
